R&D Technical Services Coordinator

POSITION
Summary:
This position will be responsible for supporting and assisting the R&D Manager with exciting projects and daily duties in a food production/ plant environment.
The R&D Technical Services Coordinator's primary responsibilities are product labeling, government approvals (USDA, FSIS, and CN labeling), nutritional analysis using Esha Genesis R&D Software and Finished Goods specification development.
Will also assist in new product development (kitchen to production conversion) and/or process optimization of existing SKU's.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Working with labeling software, create, maintain and print new product labels or revise existing labels.
Create product specifications including nutritional analysis, ingredient statement development and packaging specifications.
Create, update and maintain Bills of Materials (BOM's) in ERP system.
Create and maintain SKU's in ERP System.
Create nutritional analysis for new and existing products.
Support in Regulatory, packaging/artwork development and approvals.
Create and maintain USDA documentation submittals.
Provide support to the R&D Manager in project research, data collection, and written report summaries.
Make observations and provide feedback relative to experiments at all stages.
Willing to work at any level of project execution ranging from planning to clean-up and everything in between.
Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's Degree in Food Science or related field or equivalent experience 3
years of experience in Technical Services within a food company (or related job experience).
Experience in USDA/FDA manufacturing environment required.
Experience in Regulatory, Quality Systems and Food Labeling required.
Experience in Genesis or other similar software for Food labeling required.
Experience working with ERP Software system with Bills of Materials (BOM's).
Familiarity with the Child Nutrition (CN) program preferred.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills with proven ability to organize tasks by priority.
Proficient knowledge of Excel spreadsheets and graphs / Microsoft Office tools.
Proficient with Microsoft Office software suite preferred.
Proficient Math skills regarding ratios, percentages, unit of measure conversion required.
Strong communication and relationship building skills.
Teamwork-oriented, dedicated to supporting the team.
Ability to work within a collaborative, fast-paced environment and re-prioritize tasks when project timelines shift.
Demonstrated time-management and multi-tasking skills.
Experience in working in a GMP environment.
Knowledge of SQF or any GFSI, preferred.
