Santa Fe Springs, CA Santa Fe Springs, CA Full-time Full-time $18 - $20 an hour $18 - $20 an hour NOW HIRING - PAYROLL ASSISTANT All City Management Services has an immediate opening for a self-motivated and reliable individual to join our team as a full-time Payroll Assistant.
Responsibilities:
Works under the direction of the Payroll Manager and Team Lead.
Assist Payroll Specialist to complete tasks associated with the processing of payroll for assigned departments.
Not limited to but including the input and verification of the following:
new hires, E-Verification, terminations, status changes, tax changes, deductions, direct deposits, work summary data, matrix update, pay rate changes, retroactive adjustments, DOJ reimbursements, address changes, Certification training information, filing, and audit payroll reports each payroll cycle to ensure accuracy.
Work cooperatively with the Payroll Specialist, Operations Manager, Assistant Operations Managers, Area Supervisors, Accounting, Staff and Crossing Guards jointly to respond, research, and resolve inquiries/issues.
Performs administrative tasks not limited to but including processing new hire paperwork, background checks, processing Requests for Checks, Leave of Absences, and scanning/ filing all documents pertaining to the employees.
Data Entry to create, update, and/or verify forms or data records.
Assist with client pricing, client billing summaries and invoicing as needed.
Answer Telephones.
EXPECTATIONS:
Ability to handle phone calls from employees in a professional manner.
Ensures that payroll processing, timekeeping and data entries for assignments are performed at company standards and meet all company timelines.
Demonstrate the job knowledge and skills essential to effectively process payroll and billing in its entirety.
Consistently complete assigned duties in a professional manner in order to meet established deadlines.
Implement the appropriate solutions in a timely manner when solving problems for customers and employees.
Open to change and be able to adapt performance to meet the requirements of a changing work environment.
Demonstrate the willingness and ability to work well with others and handle constructive criticism.
COMPETENCIES:
Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks.
Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Office, systems, and database/query skills.
Must demonstrate time management and organizational skills.
Must be self-motivated and dependable.
Must demonstrate good oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work well under pressure.
WORK ENVIRONMENT This position operates in a professional office environment.
This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing and minor lifting up to 15 pounds may be required.
COMPENSATION $18.
00 to $20.
00 per hour.
Eligible for end of year bonus, 401K and other benefits.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
